How to install the Central Server on Microsoft Azure?

For those who wish to ease their server management using Microsoft Azure virtual machine, you can now install the Central Server on your virtual machines and manage your endpoints with ease. Refer to this document to create and connect to a virtual machine.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that the virtual machine meets the system requirements needed to install the Central Server.
  • Ensure that the virtual machine's Public IP/DNS is not blocked by any firewall and is accessible to all the client computers.
  • Open the requisite ports on Microsoft Azure Network Security Groups for smooth communication between the Central Server and the client computers.
  • Ensure to increase the TCP timeout.

How to increase TCP timeout?

  • Login to your Azure portal and select the machine on which you would like to configure the Central Server.
  • Navigate to properties and select the PUBLIC IP ADDRESS/DNS NAME LABEL.
  • Increase the TCP timeout to a minimum of 10 minutes.

Steps

After purchasing your virtual machine from Microsoft Azure, you can install the Central Server on it by following these steps:

  1. Remotely connect to your virtual machine.
  2. Open your web browser on the virtual machine.
  3. Download and install the Central Server.

You have now successfully installed the Central Server. To proceed further, install the agent on the computers you want to manage using one of the following methods:

Note: When you access Central Server using the virtual machine's public IP/DNS address, be aware that this address may change when the machine is stopped or reallocated. As Central Server operates on an agent-server model, it is recommended to use a Reserved IP address for uninterrupted communication between the server and client computers.
