Product does not start :

  1. One possible reason for this could be that the product was unable to find the Java Runtime binary in the installed PC. If you have installed SwisSQLConsole.exe and Java Runtime is not available in the installed PC, then install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Release 1.6.0 or above.

After installing JRE, edit setenv.bat present in the "<InstallDir>\SwisSQL\Console5.5\bin" directory and set the "JAVA_HOME" variable to the location where you have installed JRE. For example, if you have Java installed in "C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.6.0", set the "JAVA_HOME" variable in the file as given below:
           set JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.6.0

Not able to apply the license :

  1. Failure due to presence of Multiple network adapters (NICs) :
The issue in applying license can also  occur when there are multiple network adapters (NIC) installed on your machine. For machines with multiple network adapters we generate the license key for the MAC address present in the file SwisSQLConsoleRegInfo.swiss. This file would be generated when you start the product for the first time after you install the product. The MAC address of the network adapter that is active during this file generation will be written into it.

Hence when the license key is applied, if the corresponding network adapter associated with this MAC address is disabled then the key will not work. To over come the issue please enable those Network adapters (NIC) in your machine which are disabled.

Steps to enable the Network adapter in a windows machine :
Step-1: Navigate through the below path My Computer(Right click)-->properties-->Hardware-->Device Manager-->Network adapters
Step-2: If any adapter is disabled under the "Network adapters" , enable it.

  2. Failure due to VPN connection:
The license key may also fail when you are connected through VPN. This is because VPN may generate dynamic MAC addresses.

To resolve this issue we recommend that you delete the existing SwisSQLConsoleRegInfo.swiss file. Connect the machine directly into the LAN connection (not through VPN). Restart the SwisSQL Console tool to regenerate the SwisSQLConsoleRegInfo.swiss file. This would ensure that the new SwisSQLConsoleRegInfo.swiss file contains the MAC address of your LAN network adapter (NIC). Send this file to support@swissql.com. We will generate a new key for this MAC address.

While applying the key ensure your machine is connected on the same LAN connection. Once the license key is successfully applied you can subsequently connect through VPN or to any other network and use the tool without any problems.

Please contact the technical team at   support@swissql.com if you experience any other issues or if the above guidelines does not help.
